Callie - her doTERRA story

I was introduced to doTERRA in 2011, just before starting a gruelling course of chemotherapy for Triple Negative breast cancer. I was 40 years young at diagnosis.

A lady from the USA whom I'd met through my ARTbundance coaching practicums kindly gifted me a 15ml bottle of OnGuard, advising I should put some drops into a plain foot-lotion or balm, and use it twice a day. I fell in love with the scent - it smelled like Christmas to me! - and used it religiously. Despite being severely neutropenic throughout chemotherapy, despite being rushed into A&E with cardiac toxicity and almost dying, I somehow scraped through ... and didn't fall sick for a good 12 months after chemotherapy ended. I'd switched to using my Christmassy foot-balm just twice a week.

At that point, I couldn't buy doTERRA essential oils here in the UK, but then one of my best friends (also in the USA) told me that she'd managed to get rid of her crippling migraines by using Peppermint oil. I was fascinated ... and to cut a very long story short, I ended up joining my friend in doTERRA as soon as they arrived in the UK. That was in 2012, and I have been in love with them ever since!

It may interest you to know that I have been using essential oils for 25+ years; firstly, with my newborn son in 1990 who had terrible colic and was allergic to cow-dairy formula. Over time, my love affair with essential oils morphed into using them for emotional and spiritual healing, and finally - with doTERRA - in a therapeutic way. I am a certified Holistic Massage therapist, Facial Rejuvenation therapist, and Reyad Sekh Em healer (with a whole heavenly host of other holistic/alternative therapy qualifications to boot).

In 2013 my doTERRA team really started to grow; I flew out to Salzburg to attend doTERRA Convention and came back buzzing! Sadly, my priorities changed in early 2014 as I became a Supporter for my father-in-law as he declined rapidly after being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma; myself, my fiance and his family stumbled along as best we could ... and then bereavement hit like a tonne weight. In addition, I was undertaking a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree with the Open University, which didn't suit me at all: I found it tremendously lonely and stressful, 'tho loved what I was learning.

Although still using all the essential oils, supplements and skincare etc., I had precious little time to devote to regular updates. Instead, I chose to work on a 1:1 basis with my team members who'd reached out for support as they built up their classes, and their business.

In May 2017, I chose to stop studying for a year and concentrate on fulfilling my lifelong passion of combining creative play with aromapsychology. I studied with Rebecca Hintze, one of doTERRA's leading Presidential Diamonds and fabulous psychologist, to become a certified Emotions Mentor. And now I find myself back in doTERRA, part-time, with my team full of enthusiasm and growing again.

My time is split loosely in four parts:

  • running the family's property management business
  • creating + delivering new courses + coaching with Express Your Curve + CreaTEAvity Consultancy
  • sharing my passion with doTERRA in classes + mentoring my team leaders
  • keeping myself health and my home happy

I am also an ARTbundance Coach mentor + volunteer at St George's Hospital, London, and Macmillan Cancer Mental Health Taskforce.

So if you can't get hold of me initially, I'm probably buzzing around with one of my other hats on ... I will be with you just as soon as I can! xx
